Is Breathing Difficulty Associated With Anxiety?
hi, my name is sherry. I have been a smoker for 40 + years trying real hard to give it up . I just wanted you to know that up front before I go into my question. I haven t been able to work because I cant breath with any movement even talking. my lung and heart have been tested and tested both come back in good shape I m told I have copd and its my asthma. my mother has been telling me for years that I have anxiety because I have all the same symtoms as her,my older sister, three of my brothers, and my father before he passed away.so I promised my mother that I would talk to my doctor. but first I did some research . I have almost every symptom. Ive been just dismissing a lot of them as other things. most of them ive had as long as I can remember. I take Prozac but it helps only with outbursts of anger. could I have gotten this from my parents and could this be why I cant breath ?

I really appreciate your concern, if this is the case of chronic pulmonary obstructive disease with the history of smoking then it may cause the breathing difficulty with general management or with conservative treatment it can be well controlled but if it is the anxiety and depression then symptom will be more intense at the time of attack of anxiety or emotional stress, so it most advisable to come out of this condition hope this information helps.
