Is Blood In Urine A Common Side Effect Of Zyvox Intake?
Had abscess in colon drained 10 days ago----MRSA and VRE discovered in abscess----- still have drain tube protruding from side (to be removed tomorrow). Currently taking Zyvox for treatment. I just passed a fair amount of blood in my urine. Is this a side effect of procedure or Zyvox? Should I seek treatment before tomorrow s appointment? ( YYYY@YYYY )

Zyvox may rarely cause interstitial nephritis which may cause blood in the urine. Since this is not a very frequent event your doctor should investigate other potential causes. The investigation should start with a simple urinalysis and microscopic examination of the urine.
A urinary tract infection is possible. Since you seem to be having more than a few drops of blood in the urine, you'd better check it with your doctor as soon as possible. Large quantities of blood may form clots and obstruct the lower urinary tract, so a prompt diagnosis may be necessary.
