Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is Blood And Tissue Discharge After Loosing Virginity Normal?
I had sex for the first time last night. There was tearing and it was painful. After, when I went to the bathroom, I felt something slip out of my vagina. When I looked in the toilet there was blood and a piece of tissue. Is that normal? Is there supposed to be some tissue coming out after you lose your virginity?
It's very common to have bleeding and sometimes tissues surrounding vaginal mucosa may also be shed after the first intercourse. You may need to see a gynecologist only in the following conditions: 1) Excessive bleeding for prolonged period of time 2) If associated with severe pain and fever. 3) Painful urination.
It's very much normal to bleed after first intercourse.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
