Is Bed Wetting After Suffering A Concussion A Concern?

My 10 year old suffered a concussion last week. It s his second one in 2 months with this being the worst if the 2. His father told me he wet the bed last night. He does not remember the incident. He still has slowness in his thought process and tires easily still. Is the bedwetting something to be concerned about?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

We will try to help you in the best way possible. First of all it's sad to know what your son had been going through lately.

Based on the history you have shared, he needs to be reviewed by his primary care physician for signs of increased intracranial pressure.

Bed wetting is a concern so is his slowness so should be evaluated and if needed brain imaging like CT or MRI may be asked.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
