Is Back Surgery Safe In Diabetic Patients?

Hi, I am a 49 year old fmale who weighs 234lbs. i have ha a 3x bypass in 2006 and I am meds . I also take percocet for pain everyday. I am a diabetic dependant on insulin. I have gained 25lbs in the last year and i am miserable and I need to have back surgery but they advised me to lose some wieight. Is this safe for me to take ?

if diabetes is well controlled,it will be good to lose extra weight by diet,exercises permitted by heart specialist and diabetologist.Back problems lessen on losing weight to normal for your body size and age
