General & Family Physician 's  Response
Common causes of irregular heart beat include: strong emotional responses, such as stress or anxiety, strenuous exercise, caffeine, nicotine, fever, taking cold and cough medications that contain pseudoephedrine, a stimulant and taking some asthma inhaler medications that contain stimulants. Occasionally irregular heart beat can be a sign of a serious problem, such as an overactive thyroid gland (hyperthyroidism) or an abnormal heart rhythm (arrhythmia). Arrhythmias may include very fast heart rates (tachycardia), unusually slow heart rates (bradycardia) or an irregular heart rhythm.
Advice
1.     Investigations –ECG, Hb%
2.     Measure your blood pressure regularly
3.     Take high fiber diet such as pure wheat bread, green vegetable, fruits like apple
4.     Avoid strenuous activity, smoking, coffee, caffeinated beverages and alcohol
5.     Consult a cardiologist with ECG report for further management
Thanks
