Is An Endoscopy Advisable While On Aggrenox?
Hello. My mother, 71, is due for endoscopy in the morning. She had colonoscopy last week. She was scheduled for the endo two days later but had to put it off due to a death in the family. Meanwhile, she lost her instructions. She takes Aggrenox, a blood thinner. She forgot and has been taking them. She just now thought about it. Question is, will they be able to do the endoscopy?

Aggrenox (Aspirin/Dipyridamole) can be continued if the endoscopy is only diagnostic. If there are any interventions involved, then withholding the drugs may be required depending upon the risk involved.
So my suggestion would be to consult your cardiologist or neurologist for dose alterations if it is other than diagnostic endoscopy.
