Is Amenorrhoea A Symptom Of Infertility?

I have period every last week of the month. But, starting about a two years ago, they have been extremely uncomfortable. I bleed the full 7 days, usually can't keep food down nor make a bowel movement the first 24 hours, and the pain is unbelievable. Intercourse mildly hurts, but the cramps are excruciating and radiate into my thighs and mid back. Suddenly, about 4 months ago I stopped getting my period. I know I'm not pregnant, I haven't had intercourse in a year. I'm very worried that this may be a sign of infertility. Any insight?

OBGYN 's  Response
Hi,

Get your thyroid profile done. Hypothyroidism causes amenorrhea. Get one ultrasound scan examination also done.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Soumya, OBGYN
