Is A Visible Red Vein In The Stomach Worrisome?

Hi, i had a question. I have had red vein looking lines on my stomach, side of stomach and also a bit on my back area. I have no clue what they are but must of my lines come from my stomach area. They are very noticable and they start from the bottom of my stomach and go up towards my belly button. They seem to get a tad longer toward my mid stomach?? Can you recommend what i should do or whats causing that? Is it stretch marks ?? Please help, thanks.

Hi,Dear,Thanks for your query to HCM.
Dear I read facts of your query and reviewed it in context to your health issues submitted.
I understood your health concerns and feel Concerned about them.
You seem to have Distended epigastric Veins- with Portal Cirrhosis of liver.
Its also Called as Caput Medusae /or palm tree sign and is from engorged umbilical-portal veins in abdomen mostly with accompanied ascites.
thus its not stretch mark. This is caused due to liver Cirrhosis-caused from Viral / alcoholic / or non-alcoholic fattly Liver with Liver Cirrhosis.
Hence its not a good sign to have.
Review of the other causes is needed for proper treatment in your case.
This is a worrisome sign and indicates accompanied Portal hypertension with liver cirrhosis- in your case and needs to be attended with -GI Physician.

Second opinion from GI Physician would be needed.
Get Second opinion with GI-Physician to rule out other causes as discussed above.
Just don't worry and be patient and co-operate with your doctors, till you verify with your attending doctors.

Hope this would help you to treat your health issues in the best way possible.
