Hi,

Effectiveness depends upon which day of your menstrual cycle it is taken. If you have started taking Yasmin on days 1-5 of your period, you will be protected against pregnancy immediately.

Since you had an unprotected sex on 4th day after taking pills you seem to be on safer side.

However, if you take the pills on the other day of your menstrual cycle, the pills will take at least 7 days to start working so in that case you are at a risk of getting pregnant.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali
