Is VSL-3 Probiotic Advisable For Symptoms Of IBS-D?

I think I have IBSD.Been seeing a gastro...when she prescribed Vinlaflaxin (?) it helped me but I was to take it only for 14 days. when I stopped, it continued. Dr. then told me to take VSL#3 probiotech. Very expensive and need to take 16 per day!!!!. what can be done for me??

* IBS management is mostly life-style modifications , medicines are only
supportive .
* I would recommend to follow certain free of charge measures to control
IBS symptomatology
- take small amount of food at intervals
- chew food properly
- take balanced light diet with adequate nutritional ingredients
fresh yoggurt , butter milk have more pre pro biotics
- prefer to take more liquids
- avoid all oily / spicy / non vegetarian foods / beverages / cheese / excess
ghee / sugars / artificial sweeteners
- avoid smoking / alcohol / any abuse substances
- avoid stress / anxiety
- regular sound sleep of 8 hours
- regular walking in fresh air , light exercises at home , YOGA
- control of BP , Blood sugar , weight , Cholesterol levels
