General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi & Welcome to HCM.
I can understand your concern.
TusQ tablet is not advisable for dry cough.
TusQ tablet which contains Bromhexine, Chlorpheniramine Maleate, Guaifenesin, Paracetamol, & Phenylephrine is basically an expectorant-useful in cough associated with thick sputum as it promotes the drainage by thinning the mucus in the air passages to make it easier to cough up the mucus and clear the airways. Since, its use is associated with a number of side effects such as drowsiness, increased heart beats, dryness of the eyes and the mouth, constipation, retention of urine, etc, hence it is not advisable to treat dry cough.
The antibiotic Zifi (Cefixime), Imol (Ibuprofen+Paracetamol), and Levocetrizine can be taken for the treatment of respiratory tract infection associated with cold and dry cough after consulting a physician.
Hope this answers your query.
