Is TSH Level Of 17 A Cause For Concern?

i have been recently tested for thyroid issues because I had several of the symptoms (mainly. Ringing in the ear, and foggy brain. My TSH level was 17. I was on levothyrine to start...could my thyroid conditions cause ringing in the ears and headaches?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
TSH level of 17 is very high and it suggests hypothyroidism.
Levothyroxine is drug used in hypothyroidism but you need to consult your treating doctor for review of drug dosage.
The level of TSH is very high so the dose of levothyroxine may have to be increased.
Ringing in ears and headaches is not characteristic of hypothyroidism so you need to consult an ENT specialist for clinical assessment of the ears.
Headache can occur due to various causes like hypertension, refractive error of eyes, high intracranial pressure, migraine etc.
A clinical assessment and detailed history is required to determine the cause of headache.
