Is Mirtazapine 15 Mg The Right Medicine For Derpression?

I have suffer from depression for the last 15 years my Dc. Gave mirtazapine of 15 mg how ever I have doctors in my family and they gave me alprazolam 1 mg and I would like to know the difference dou to my sleeping and depression that prescription is not helping me

Hi,
Welcome to HCM. Mirtazapine 15 mg is a right medication. Alprazolam is a sleep promoting medicine with anxiolytic property, but it can not have potential to treat Depression effectively.

I advice you to continue tab Mirtazapine as it may treat Depression and at the same time, due to sedative property it may be helpful in promoting sleep.

After few weeks of therapy you may feel the difference, but you must continue the drug for next few months.
