Is Ketoconazole Safe To Be Used Instead Of Clotrimazole For Tinea Pedis?

Ive been using clotrimazole for some time now, tinea pedis never really gets prominent but my country is a tropical weather type and am always prone to maybe sweating at some point of the day. Would any recommend to maybe switch to another topical cream, regardless that ive been using it constant and the complications are small they are still persistent, I bough some ketoconazole cream to maybe switch creams and see if i can finish this finally

Hello,

I understand your concern. Tinea pedis can be a nuisance and hard to treat. You certainly can give the Ketoconazole cream a try, however, since you haven't had any resolution with Clotrimazole cream, I recommend you take an oral medication such as Terbinafine or Itraconazole. Oral treatment is more effective than the tipical because it reaches a wider area of the skin, ensuring erradication of the infection.

Wishing you all the best.
