Is HbA1c Level Of 6.6 A Cause For Concern?

asi am a diabetic i recently results from my health care provider that my A1C was 6.6 this time around higher than I ve had it in sometime. my healthcare provider lower my Metformin to 500mg i had been taking 2000mg. in the previous month i had a sinus infection and took a round od steroids. My healthcare provider said as me being a Diabetic 6.6 for an A1C was find. What are your findings on a heathly A1C for Diabetics. thanks

Hello,

The level of 6.6 fr the HbA1c is borderline high and not of much clinical relevance so far as you maintain regular diet control, continue antidiabetic medicines and do regular exercises.

Do keep evaluating the same every 3 months once it goes beyond 5.5 level.
