Hi,

Coming to FSH, it can be up to 15 but it varies with the day of the menstrual cycle. Anyway, 21 is certainly on the higher side. As you mentioned about bleeding when on novelon, it is not uncommon and is called as breakthrough bleeding. Generally, for patients who come to me with similar complaints, I increase the dose of the medicine and ask them to review after a month. Regarding weight gain, it is a proven side effect of novelon. So, kindly go for a review with your gynecologist such that she can examine you and suggest an alteration in the dose of medications. Also, with such untimely bleeding, you may land up in anaemia. So, your doctor may also suggest some blood improving supplements. Please do not worry about weight gain and you may follow below instructions to curb your weight gain:
1) carbohydrates are to be cut down to as minimum as possible 2) proteins can be increased in your diet and fats also to be minimum
3) high fiber diet is the best
4) exercise daily for 60 min at least 5 days a week.
5) sitting is being considered the new smoking so avoid sitting too long.
6) please make sure you walk at least 1-2 km daily.
7) please do not forget to drink plenty of water at least 3.5-4 lit/day.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
