Is Doxycycline Effective In Treatment Of High Fever And Ear Pain?

Went to see the doc because I had high fever Muffled hearing outta both ears with pain sweats / chills and neck pains... He prescribed me doxycycline is that used to treat what I have. I was reading the info sheet from the pharmacy and it says it treat bacterial infections?

Hello,

It sounds like your doctor has diagnosed you with either a bacterial middle ear infection or a bacterial sinus infection. For both of these conditions doxycycline, which is an antibiotic, is appropriate. Be careful out in the sun as doxycycline can make you more prone to sunburns.
