Sir I am diabetic from 2010. Initially I was prescribed diamicron xr 60. But after few months I discontinued that medicine . Recently my rbs test results is 294. Now I am taking with advice of my dr. One of both 50/500 and neuro gardian capsule with breakfast. If those are addictive drugs.
Welcome to HCM. I am glad that you asked the query because you need to learn about diabetes and its management to enjoy a good quality life in the future. Diabetes as you would have realised is a disease in which your blood sugar is raised above normal. High blood sugar can damage all organs in your body and unless your diabetes is controlled well you run the risk of blindness, kidney failure, heart attack, stroke and amputation of legs. To control your blood sugar and make it normal you require the help of medicines along with a wholesome, healthy diabetic diet, exercise and stress relief as your doctor might have advised you already. You require to take these medicines continuously to keep your blood sugar under control and to avoid the serious complications. You cannot call this as addiction. It would be like having food when you are hungry. Would you call it as food addiction? I shall be happy to answer if you have more queries. Take Care Dr Noble Zachariah
