Increase In Blood Urea And Creatinine. On Ramipril For Controlling BP. Connection?

My blood urea is gradually increasing , to some extend creatinine figure is also in the top border line.
I have been prescribed ramipril ( cardace ) for last 2/3 years for controlling my blood pressure ,
which is working fine so far BP is concerned . My urea level is up to 66 mg/dL , creatinine 1.35 mg/dL .
Is Ramipril the reason for the increase of urea and creatinine ?
Kindly advise.

Hi there,

Cardace protects your kidneys instead of damaging. Your treating physician has advised you the correct medication.

In contrary your increased levels of Blood Urea and serum creatinine are due to hypertensive kidney disease. Becoz of Long standing Blood pressure which causing damage to your kidney filtration capabilities.

You better should be ruled out for Diabetes also.

I advise you to consult a Nephrologist for your concern.
