I was bitten/stung on my wrist by an ant or wasp yesterday morning. I didn't pay much attention to it although it itched & was a bit swollen. This morning it didn't improve, it got more swollen and the skin felt hard and warm. Now the swelling has gotten red like a sunburn and moved down to my hand by my pinkie finger. Do you think its an infection or an allergic reaction to the bite?

I have recently been poisoned by killer algae and have also been bitten multiple times by mosquitos. I am currently experiencing numbness around my right wrist, but i was not bitten in this area. Could you let me know why this would be? And also i have had the itching sensation for over 2 days now, is this normal?

I am a 68 yearly male. To night I heard a loud pop in my right wrist followed by extreme pain, (I was in tears). I went to the emergency room, was x-rayed and told there was no break but have severe tendonsis. I can not make a fist or move my hand in ant direction or grab anything without severe pain. I think I may have ruptured one of the two tendons that are fixed to the thumb. Would I need MRI to confirm this? The ER Dr. gave shot for pain, a pill for pain, and a prescription for anti-inflammatory and more pain meds.

Hi - I got stung by a bee yesterday and I have had allergic reactions in the past. I took a antihistamine right after and had pain and swelling at the site (left palm, in the thumb muscle area). The redness and swelling have moved down into my wrist below the site and it doesn t hurt much now. What I am concerned about now, is I am feeling achy all over like I have a fever. Do you think this is related to the sting or just a coincidence? Thank-you!
