I used to smoke I used to wake up an smoke from mornin till I sleep

hello i have to go for a blood test with dvla for drink drivin which happened 20 years ago the drink dont bother me know more as i can go with out but my only concern is the amount of weed i used to smoke i used to wake up an smoke from mornin till i sleep but in the last 6 months i have cut down to just 1 day a week an now im tryin to stop altogether so far 1 week is complete today how long will i have to stay off weed befor i can go for the test as i aint got much money an cant afford to do it an fail please help many thanx lee

Lee - just saw this and curious to know how the test went and if you are still smoking. It looked like you traded one addiction for another, no alcohol for weed. There are support groups out there, so I hope that you were able to get help.

Hello, welcome to Healthcaremagic. The weed can remain in body from few days to few months depending on the amount consumed and duration for which it was used. As you were a very heavy user of it i suspect it would take a long abstenance period before you come out clean. But it is difficult to predict as such. Non heavy users usually clean up there system in 7 to 8 days. But it would definitely be a longer period in your case. Wish you good health.
