The fact your tests results came back as normal should offer you some reassurance. Most of us get the odd ectopic heart beat here and there. Palpitations are are made worse by stress and caffeine. If you try and take your mind of them and stop worrying, they will more than likely go away. The problem is, you worrying about it is making them worse and the more you worry, the more they occur. You need to break the cycle. Everything is fine, you can relax.

I can feel my heart beating in my chest, it started a couple of weeks ago and sometimes is worse than others, sometimes it feels like it beats at the top of the heart then half a second later beats at the bottom of the heart. I notice it more when I’m sitting on the sofa in the evenings, but it does happen at other times of the day as well.

Hi For the last week or so my heart seems to be missing a beat every couple of minutes or so , thru the day ...I do have a lot of stress but think I m quite used to the stress of 4 high needs foster children with challenging behaviours. Other than controlled blood pressure. I am healthy and work hard without any symtoms . I have had a fleeting heart murmer since birth. Do you think the heart missing beats are serious ?

Throughout my normal day there are times I feel like my heart beats very slowly. I can actually feel a beat/ thumping or two. So much that there are times I cough or yawn for more oxygen. I do workout regularly and rarely but occasionally when I m working out during my cardio sessions my heart will go into overdrive and it has a hard time regulating down to a normal rate. It is scary.

I'm a 21 yr old female having constant heart palpitations. I know what they are and what they feel like some are stronger than others but I feel them all the time. I don't have insurance so I haven't seen a cardiologist. I don't smoke, drink anything with caffeine, and only drink alcohol occasionally. Some doctors have said possible mitral valve prolapse. I'm just wondering what could be causing so many palpitations and also I have had them since I was 18 they are just getting much worse I also have chest pain just about every day.

I have been prescribed isoptin 240 ml per day as my blood pressure has been up to 165 over 93. Also I have been getting palpitation which at times last up to a couple of hours. Had a heart monitor put on . showed my heart rate going up to 114. resting at about 66. Which I know is good. the results of the monitor showed over 2000 ectopic episodes. Is this anything to worry about.

I am 74 years old and have experienced hot flushes since menopause (at age 54). I experience moderate to high blood pressure and most medications for this make my symptoms worse. I have heart palpitations during these uncomfortable symptoms, experience fatigue and have night sweats which wake me up. I have Sjoegren's Syndrome with Sicca, and Peripehral neuropathy and most other aging symptoms. I don't have dementia, thankfully, but I am curious as to whether hot flushes are impacting on my blood pressure and contributing to my anxieties or could it be caused by my thyroid? My tests show a normal reading for my thyroid. I also had cancer of the uterus, grade 1, and had everything removed nine years ago and have remained cancer free to date. I hope you can help me find a way to improve the situation as I don't have any blocked arteries or heart problems so it is a mystery to me. I am worried about the impact it may eventually have on my heart. Sincerely yours,
