I Am Pregnant And Have A Fibroid. Does It Interfere With My Pregnancy?

hi,i am 26yrs married girl diagnosed with a large uterine fibroid.i m 6week pregnant and my doctor says fibroid is even larger than my uterus and is located away from the foetus. i m concerned about this , is it interfere with my pregnancy please help me doctor

The impact of the fibroid on the pregnancy depends not only on the size of the fibroid, but also on the location of the fibroid. If the fibroid happens to be close to the uterine cavity as in the submucous or intramural types, it is likely to interfere with pregnancy. If, on the other hand, it is a subserosal type, it is away from the uterine cavity and hence is most often harmless. Yet, in view of the large size, you should contemplate getting it removed at a convenient time, once the pregnancy stabilizes. Hope this helps.
