I am 56 yrs. and my period is now going

I am 56 yrs. and my period is now going on 18 days. In 2000, I had surgery to remove what was the Cervical Cancer. I was free from it. In 2007 and 2009 heavy long periods came again. After 4 different doctors checked me, they could find nothing wrong. I now, do not know what to do and how to stop this

UHi my mother is 56 yrs old, she recently undergo surgery, the doctor remove her thyroid gland. After the surgery the doctor gave her some medicines to take, but she became weak, and always not feeling well. Then she discontinue taking meds and now she s fine, is it safe not to take meds.. Her TSH 60uiu/ml now.. Is it normal? Or she must visit doctor for another medicines?.
