Hypersensitive, Diabetic, Abnormal Menstruation. Is D And C, Hysterectomy Safe? What Is The Cost?
Hello Doctor, My mother is 49 yrs old.She is hypertensive, diabetic and has thyroid problem.Recently she has been complaining of heavy abnormal lengthy menstrual periods. There is severe bloating of the stomach. We visited a doc and she performed pelvic scan, pap smear and informed us that she has fibroids and a DnC is required. Is DnC safe enough or should we look into the option of hysterectomy? What is the cost involved in DnC and hysterctomy respectively? What is the recovery period for each? Is hospitalisation required?
