How To Treat Thread Like Structures In The Mouth?

I had finger infection and was treated with pic line antibiotics followed by more antibiotics. Since then I have what seems like threads in my mouth, but cannot see them. I can bite them but not see them. Do you have any answer for why I continue to have this problem or what I might do to solve this problem?

Hello,

As per your query, you have thread like structures in the mouth which is mainly due to fungal infection. Maintain oral hygiene. Visit dentist once and get it examined.

You should get biopsy done to rule out any condition or underlying systemic involvement. Do warm saline gargles. Rinse with nystatin suspensions daily to avoid any growth of microorganisms.

Brush and floss daily and do rinse with antimicrobial mouth wash. Do tongue scrapping as well but very mildly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari
