How To Treat Sticky Hair After Hurting Back Head Accompanied With Some Yellow Discharge?

The back of my head hurts and I haven't scratched it in a day but yet when I woke up this morning the hair on back of my head has now become all matted together and still occasionally get a sticky feeling. When I checked with a tissue it was yellow. Please help as I face people on a day to day basis and can't have this overshadowing me.

Hi. Thanks for posting your concern at HCM.

I would keep a possibility of Scalp folliculitis with pus dishcarge leading to matting and tangling of hair.

If i was your treating doctor i would have asked you to take an oral antibiotic (Penicillin group or Cephalosporin group) for a week.

Use a 5%cetrimide based shampoo once daily which is a de-greasing preparation and helps to gently loosen up crusts and sticky discharge.

take care
regards
