General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The paracetamol works as an anti-pyretic to lower down the temperature for a period of time. Until the root cause of the fever is not identified, controlled, there will be definite spikes of the fever for sure. There can be underlying bacterial or viral infection of respiratory, GIT or other system which may be provoking the fever spikes. Kindly get her examined by her pediatrician for systemic examination to get the best prescription of medications to cure at earliest. As the persistently high temperature in child can lead to various disorders such as seizures or else.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
