How To Treat Heaviness In Head, eye Twitches, sleep Apnea And Cold Feet And Fingers?

Hi .... I am having heavy head in morning when i wake up, my left eye twitches some time, having a feeling like my brain is foggy all day long, i do get some tingling in my head from time to time, i think i also have light/glare sensitivity. I am 35 year old with 220lbs and 5.10 height. I have little high BP 140/95 and was diagnosed for mild sleep apnea. I have been prescribed Norvasc 2.5 Mg. I also feel my mouth is dry and have been drinking a lot of water and my urination has also increased. I am not using CPAP as it does more harm then help. Plus these symptoms got worse sine i started using CPAP and Norvasc ... so want to stop both and see if i see any improvement. When i wake up i also sometime have my left had ring and pinky finger numb .. it goes away even before i get out of bed. Also time to time (not every-time) ... after meals or in crowded places i feel being flushed/anxious. not sure if it s the winter affect .. my fingers and toes feel a lot cold this year. i have no difficulty carrying out day to day functions and also i play rigorous badminton for about 2 hours. the constant brain fog along with vision issues are the most bothersome for me. I did a complete heart test and all came out normal. any advise as what could be causing this? can these be related to norvasc? what next steps i should pursue?

Hi,

Norvasc really should not be causing these symptoms It can cause some lower leg swelling which is fairly common. It sounds as though you are experiencing what is called an atypical migraine. These are be caused by a number of issues but I am concerned that your blood pressure does need better control. I realize that you don't wish to stay on the Norvasc and there are other blood pressure medication options but I truthfully think this may be a component of it.

I get somewhat concerned the your neurological symptoms, and in particular if you are at a premature risk for a stroke. The exercise is good, keep that up but I do think the blood pressure needs more tightly controlled. Also, make sure to keep track of your blood pressure readings and even keep a log of them for your physician, that really helps. A neurologist referral for further evaluation of the headache and the brain fog would also be a great idea.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
