How To Treat Headache?

I have a headache on the right side of my head. Feels localized. Not terribly painful though when I move my head it can make me wince. Its been there for about a week now. Goes away during a long walk. I m a 56 year old male. Never experienced these symptoms before.

Hi,

First of all, you should exclude a serious condition, namely Giant cell arteritis by examining the pulse of Temporal artery in the front of your ear on both sides. If the doctor cannot find the pulse or find a rope-like material in the front of your ears, you should do ESR. If the ESR were positive you would receive cortisol and aspirin to treat this condition and save the ophthalmic arteries from thrombosis. Second, you should do some investigations such as: measuring blood pressure, Kidney function tests and CT brain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dr/Mustafa, Neurologist
