Hi Doctor, I am 31 yrs old, I just had parathyroid surgery which turned out to be very hard on my body. After the surgery my thyroid became hyper-thyroid. The doctor took out my 2 right parathyroids and my thymus. About 1 week before I went in for the surgery I started to experience frequent urgent urination symptoms and my docs said it was due to the parathyroids and to see what happens after the surgery. So I had the surgery and the urination is still pretty bad, if not worse now, it has been going on for about a month and a half now. I went to the gyno and they did not see anything, I have been tested for diabetes nothing, I do not have a UTI and if I did I took 2 different types of antibiotics. I have tried detrol and ditropan which did not seem to help. The urologist has told me that by bladder is ok and emptying normally. I went for a renal kidney sonogram, all normal. So now my next question is this neurological? I have had shingles and I have alot of numbness in my hands and feet always. I also was born with lazy eye and have very poor vision. I am in relatively good shape as I try to spin and go to the gym 5 days a week but lately this has been difficult. Is there any other type of doctor that I should seek for this issue? I do not leak, I just get the urge and then have to go immediately, I have not had an accident yet but it is very difficult for me to make it to the bathroom, and everytime I go the stream is strong.
