How To Treat Depression?

Hello my name is vivian and I am from nigeria...I am 20 years old and I feel am depressed..evey since 2012 after I lost my mum I have had to see life differently...I imagine a lot and whenever I see someone pretty I put them in my imaginative dream and take them to be me..I want to date but I feel all the want is to use me..I listen to songs a lot and feel I want and deserve a fairtale life.I love to explore and make me happy but yet I feel very lonely..what should I do

Hello and welcome to HCM,
The symptoms mentioned by you are not that of depression.
The feeling of loneliness and fear of being left alone are that of post traumatic stress disorder probably due to loss of your mother.
The best way to get rid of negative feelings is to indulge yourself in positive and useful activities.
Concentrating in your career, setting goals, exercising, sports, meditation, dramatics are few of the activities which will help you to develop a positive attitude as per your choice and aptitude.
Family, friend and peer support is required so indulge and involve yourself in friend groups and positive activities.
If you are finding it difficult to take an initiate, then you may consult a psychologist/ psychiatrist.
