How To Treat Cirrhosis?

My mother was diagnosed with Cirrohsis last night, I do not know the extent yet. I have heard that Duke University has one of the liver programs in the nation. I need to know where to take her to get the top medical care. She lives in West Virginia and I live 1.5 hours from Raleigh, NC. I am looking for the best option for care for her. I am looking at the cleveland clinic and duke university for options. Please opine.

Hello,

You do not have to worry about your mother as long as her liver enzymes are within normal and she is not complaining from any symptoms.

Unfortunately, the liver cirrhosis is not curable.. all we can do is to stop it from progressing.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Salah Saad Shoman
