How To Treat Bruise And Swelling On Arm Inspite Of Taking Tetanus?

I had a tetanus shot Sunday October 4, due to a hand/arm bite I received from a person trying to jump off a balcony. I have swelling (bump) in my upper arm where I received the tetanus shot. I am type 2 diabetic. The major bruising is now showing up between the fleshy part of my thumb up my forearm. I know the bruising is to be expected. At times my arm feels warm.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have bruise and swelling on arm inspite of taking Tetanus . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query , but in your case it seems to me that the symptoms are due to infection in site of bite due to low immunity . It can also occur due to simple inflammation due to trauma . I would suggest you to apply ice pack twice a day and apply betadine or antibiotics cream twice a day . If the infection get worse or there will be tenderness in your arm then consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics like amoxicillin along with anti inflammatory .
