My 42 year old daughter is an addict. She is currently searching for a rehab, but she is in severe pain due to boil like sores on several places on her body. Her addiction is meth. How can she get relief from these sores while she withdraws from the drug?
I can understand your concern for the body sores and meth addiction. You have not enumerated for how long your daughter is under rehabilitation treatment and any associated systemic problem like hypertension or increased blood sugar.
It is of utmost importance that her hygiene should be maintained properly as it is most often seen due improper hygiene and resultant bacterial proliferation. You can consult a dermatologist if these occur again and again so that if required certain blood test could be done. For the time being you can follow the suggestions below:
-Apply antibacterial cream such as gentamycin or mupirocin 3-4 times a day. -Do not scratch or rub the skin as it can lead to further aggravation. -You can take oral anti histamine for itching like loratadine or levocetrizine under medical advice. - For the pain part you can give Ibuprofen or paracetamol or any pain killer round the clock basis.
All the best.
