How To Treat Bladder Infection?

I am a 35 year old female. I was diagnosed with hodgkins lymphoma in Dec. of 2005. I had 3months of chemotherapy and it was gone. I have been cancer free ever since. In November of 2011, I started feeling like I had a bladder infection, burning when I urinate. Occasionally I would have a stabbing pain in the area where I pea from, that has subsided but the pain when urinating is still there. On Christmas day I started my period after just having it a week earlier and I haven't stopped bleeding since. It is not always heavy, it fluctuates between heavy and light. What do you think the problem might be?
Oh, I am about 5'3'' and about 130lbs.
