How To Treat A Toddler With Fever And Multiple Bowel Movements?

My 14 month old son has a temperature of 99.4, multiple bowel movements although still a thick consistency and yellowish in color he had about 5 poop diapers. Should I be concerned or treat this like a normal fever; Bathing him, keeping him monitored, plenty of fluids and rest? It's 10:38 pm my time so he's already in Bed But Still Would Love Any advice.
