How To Treat Gastroenteritis?
If a person (average weight , adult male, 5 10 ) has a bad case of Gastroenteritis (vomiting and diarrhea), he is in both Metabolic Alkolosis and Metabolic Acidosis.... Four part question: 1. What is the bodies overall physiological State at this time or is it in a state of physiolocal equalibrium? How and Why? 2. What to treat him with: LR Or 0.9 NS. How much, over what period of time and why? 3. Do you add Bicarb? How much, if so, or why not? 4. Would you give an additive of Potasium (K) [ banana bag]. How much and over what length of time? If this is gastroenteritis then this comes around without the medicine only hydration is matter and that need to be correct clinical symptoms of dehydration is matter, if the symptoms does not improved then stool examination need to be done to know the causative organism, hope thin information helps
