Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello
This habit of eating could be due to following possibilities:
1. OCD: this is a compulsive act for you despite of knowing the fact that you should not do it.
2. PICA: eating the no-palatable things. There could be chances of iron-deficiency anemia.

I would suggest you to visit a psychiatrist for proper evaluation and treatment. He will take care of your insomnia as well. Also get your hemoglobin levels tested.
Dont worry as this problem is treatable.
Thanks
