How To Prevent Painful Pimple At The Top Of Buttocks?
I have a very painful pimple at the top of my butt crack. It has happened before and pops after about a week. Right now it is painful to touch about an inch around it is inflamed. What can I do to speed up the popping process? How can I avoid this in the future?
Do not pop it yourself. For now, apply a hot compress on the region at all times. Leave it open and do not keep the region wet or unclean.
Once drainage begins, it might take 2-3 days before it completely dries up. I would also recommend oral antibiotic coverage during the course of the drainage and for a few days after.
It can be due to folliculitis or hair follicle or roots infection due to bacterial growth in it. It may need oral as well as topical antibiotics. Meanwhile OTC analgesic like acetaminophen or ibuprofen can be helpful for symptomatic relief. Dermatology review should be sought for examination and management.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
