How To Keep Acne Problem In Control?

I have had severe acne since I went off Diane 35 4 years ago. A year ago I found out I was allergic to wheat, soy and peanuts. Not eating this helped. I did a glycolic peel of 70 percent and it burned me. I bleached my skin back and took antibiotics for 5 months. Acne is still coming. Should I go back on Diane 35? I use Clinique foam wash, erytop cream and a aha cream at night. Sometimes I mix with tea tree oil. I also scub with baking soda sometimes.

Hi Dear,

Understanding your concern.

As per your query you have symptoms of acne on face which occur when a pore in your skin gets clogged, usually with dead skin cells. Sometimes bacteria get trapped inside the pore, too, causing the area to become red and swollen. Hormonal change during puberty , androgen hormones stimulate more sebum to be produced and a greater amount of skin cells to proliferate. I would suggest you to exfoliate gently once or twice a day with a salicylic acid-based exfoliant. Apply benzoyl peroxide cream or gel for killing the bacteria in the pore. You should not start with Diane 35 and you should get your hormonal levels monitored. Wash your face using a mild soap or cleanser and lukewarm water. If condition doesn't improve in a week then consult dermatologist for proper diagnosis. Doctor may prescribe oral antibiotics like clindamycin , Isotretinoin or Hormone Therapy.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
