How To Increase Appetite?

my mother is 92 she is pretty strong nothing major wrong and has healed from a hole in her back and broken hip healed -recently she was taken off of respiradol and citalopram and adavan because she wasn t getting enough liquids in nursing home and severely dehydrated-she says her mouth is sore 2 teeth are broken off all she has- and she doesn t act like she s in severe pain-however she want eat-but she will drink-she will say the food is nasty. please how can I get her appetite to increase?

There are medications which can be used to increase appetite. The most commonly prescribed appetite stimulants are Marinol and Megace. I would ask your mothers physician if either of these would be appropriate. As she is 92, I would allow her to eat any foods she likes in an effort to increase her food intake.
