How To Help A Child With Encopresis?

Why do children at age 7 all most 8 still pop there pants help I try not to say too much and act like it doesn t bother me but sometimes I get upset with the situation because I ve never heard of this she s a great kid and good in school but sometime she comes on with soil underwear and purposely does it in the house help

Hello,

From your description, I am of the opinion that your child having encopresis should be treated as she is 8years old. Behavioral therapy in the form of positive reinforcement such as rewarding her and encouraging her not to soil her clothes.

Don't punish a child. Several mechanical devices such as alarms tagged to the cloth, routine before bed, etc should be used. Imipramine is the medication used for encopresis which can be started with reference to a local child psychiatrist.
