How To Heal Bruise?

My friend has a "bruise" that's looks speckled almost the closest thing I've ever seen that looks like this is a hickie, he says he got it by a friend repeatedly poking him and pitching him in the same spot. Is that true a bruise can turn speckled like a hickie?
