Hi, Dr. I AM 17 YEAR OLD I HAVE USE MELACARE CREEM FOR LAST 8 MONTHS AND SUDDENLY I HAVE COME MORE ACNE ON MY FACE AND AFTER ACNE THERE HAVE A DARK BLACK SPOT AND DOESNT GO ON MY PHASE...... PLEASE HELP ME Dr.... WHAT I DO....... EMAIL- YYYY@YYYY
Melacare cream contains a potent steroid, mometasone. It should never be used on face for long because a potent steroid like mometasone can cause the skin of face to become photosensitive, Acne ridden and thinned out with telangiectasias. Females can also have facial hair growth which is an additional problem.
Melacare cream is prescription product for pigmentation/melasma over face. It should never be used without the prescription of a dermatologist and that too for not more than 2-3 months.
For post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation that has resulted after acne has healed, you could use a skin lightening cream containing one or more of the following ingredients like kojic aacid, hydroquinone etc to gradually fade away the hyperpigmentation.
An Oral Vit C once daily would help in hasten up the resolution of hyperpigmentation.
