In the beginning I was asked to control my diet and In my 5th month doctor gave me Biogmet SR 500 twice daily after breakfast and dinner. In the beginning of my 7th month it increased to thrice daily. But after that as well my sugar levels are very high so before 15 day doctor asked mr to take insulin 4 times a day. Hemuinsulin R befroe all 3 meals and Hemuinsulin N at Bed time. Usually my sugar is high in early morning around 135 and after breakfast between 165 to 200. so the doctor asked me to take 10 units of insulin in morning and 2 tab of Bigo met SR 500 after the breakfast. Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Diabetes in pregnancy should be managed properly as uncontrolled blood sugar levels lead to fetal complications like macrosomia, heart dysfunction, or sudden intrauterine death. Insulin requirements greatly increase in the third trimester of pregnancy because of the hormonal changes in pregnancy.
You need to get your insulin dose increased so that fasting blood sugar level is less than 90 mg/dl, pre meals blood sugar levels is less than 100 mg/ dl and 2 hours post meals blood sugar levels is less than 120 mg/dl. You should get daily blood sugar monitoring done. and insulin dose adjusted accordingly.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Wishing you good health.
