General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Lactational amenorrhea occurs after delivery, which is a temporary postnatal infertility that occurs when a woman is not menstruating while breastfeeding. Breastfeeding delays the resumption of normal ovarian cycles by disrupting the hormonal pattern. Return of menstruation following childbirth varies widely among individuals. Average return of menses for women is 14 months after childbirth, with sometimes it can be as soon as 2 months also.
You can ovulate as early as 25 days after giving birth if you aren't breastfeeding. There are possibilities to become pregnant in the first six weeks after giving birth.
It is ideally advisable to give a spacing of 18 to 24 months between two children, as it might carry certain risks for children as well as mother if they become pregnant early. There are no specific food or drinks or positions, which would make you pregnant soon. All you need is to try naturally as you did earlier and the chances of becoming pregnant would improve once you get your cycles and start ovulation regularly.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
