How Long Should Zantac Be Used For Heart Burn?

My husband has been taking Zantac 150 on a daily basis for the past 7-8 months. It has decreased his heartburn. My concern is how long can he take it over months or years? He has not had any side effects that we are aware of, but can it be harming him in any way?

this is common in practice to use Zantac 150 mg after heart burn

this drug ishaving excellent safety record and no long term side effects are been documented.

but in my opinion the the cause of heartburn should be find out with help of some investigations.

1. upper gastrointestinal endoscopy and biopsy to rule out gastroesophageal reflux disease, or H Pyori associated gastritis.

2. heart brun associated with gasrinoma.

thanks
