my 14 year old daughter( 58 pounds) with a history of CP and moebius syndrome, asthma, tracheostomy, gtube, just finished a course of vancomycin(IV). It was for over one month treating an empyema in her left lung. She developed red man s syndrome after leaving PICU and was home on the IV antibiotics. We gave the med slowly, over one and a half hours. Well, we finished the last dose two days ago, and the red, patchy rash persists. How long can we expect until the rash disappears.
